The story follows Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence), two passengers aboard a starship, Avalon , heading to a distant colony planet. The journey is meant to take 120 years, with everyone in cryosleep. However, Jim’s pod malfunctions, waking him up 90 years too early. After a year of utter isolation, he faces an impossible moral dilemma: wake up a beautiful fellow passenger (Aurora) to cure his loneliness, or face death alone.
