The guards arrive. What follows is an epic, brutal, and rain-soaked slaughter. The samurai fight wave after wave of enemies. One by one, they fall. Finally, Shinzaemon faces Naritsugu in a one-on-one duel. Shinzaemon is mortally wounded but manages to kill Naritsugu—first by stabbing him, then cutting off his arm, and finally beheading him.
