is a specialized microtonal synth library created by HZE , designed for use within Native Instruments’ Kontakt . In the world of music production, "patched" usually refers to two things: a specific instrument preset file ( .nki ) or, more colloquially, a library that has been modified to bypass license restrictions (cracked).

Infinitones was built for an earlier version of Kontakt (5.6–5.8). As Native Instruments rolled out Kontakt 6 and later Kontakt 7 (the "Player" architecture change), many scripts broke. The GUI would load blank, or the feedback knobs would cease to output sound.
