If you hear the menu music but see a black screen:
report that forcing the game to re-verify its executable by switching languages fixes the "failed to launch" error: Disable Features : Right-click the game in your Steam Library, select Properties , and turn off both Steam Overlay Steam Cloud Switch Language : Under the tab, change it to something else (e.g., Russian). : Let Steam download the roughly 500MB update. Launch Once : Start the game. Once the launcher appears, close it.
