Murshid -

A textbook on medicine cannot cure a specific patient. Similarly, a general sermon or a book on spirituality cannot cure the specific disease of a specific soul. The Murshid provides a personalized spiritual regimen (Wird or Dhikr). For one person, the cure might be fasting; for another, it might be serving the poor; for a third, it might be silence.
